Virtual Machine Compatibility for ESX
Virtual machines that are compatible with ESX 4.x and later (hardware version 7) are supported with ESX 9.0. Virtual
machines that are compatible with ESX 3.x and later (hardware version 4) are not supported. To use such virtual
machines on ESX 9.0, upgrade the virtual machine compatibility. See the
ESX Upgrade documentation.
